Vocal at the beginning might sound surprising, only it is the voice of "Simion" talking, from a Dexter'south Laboratory episode named "Dial Grand for Monkey".

Doesn't anyone hear Al Hudson and The Soul Partners song "Spread Love"
Also Carrie Lucas every bit it was said before

One of Helden's all-time. That hard-hit sample over a hard drum loop is only archetype. Harden'southward vocals make this imperial track fifty-fifty more majestic. A shame it'south pricey.

used to have this and sold it. Can anyone tell what's different in the "raw mix"? Wasn't it but an instrumental?
Notwithstanding dainty song btw!

"You Don't Know Me" contains uncredited samples of Carrie Lucas "Dance With You".

Who cares if Johnny D & Nick P used the same Carrie Lucas sample earlier? This is a true popular record, this is probably the first house track I ever heard on the radio! Lots of the same disco loops take been used lots of times, over and over. But information technology'southward the total concept of this record that makes information technology a winner: the vocals, the production, the video, etc. Props to Armand Van Helden and Duane Harden for this astonishing tune!

A healthy slice of business firm cheese... AVH doing his matter, slick production, dainty beats, heavy sample use + catchy vocals.

Peachy to mix and one for the ladies.

Many years ago I recollect the DJ Norman Jay dropping this at The Cross club in Kings Cantankerous, London... shook the place upwardly. Also a Notting Hill Carnival tune at Jay's Good Times sound system.

Music video for this... AVH and his Timberland boots getting the girls in NYC clubs!

The unabridged concept for this was simply Johnny D & Nicky P's "The Captain" (Unreleased Projection Pt 2, TNT 63, 1996, subsequently re-released on Henry Street) with Duane Harden singing over the superlative.

The reason they aren't generally credited in any fashion is considering Johnny D & Nick P took the original sample for "The Captain" from Carrie Lucas' "Dance With You".
Therefore the full general consensus (equally y'all tin see from the release notes above & the comments below) is that "Armand has sampled "Dance With You" with great taste, very smart and not obvious".

Hmmmmm, not really!

Personally I think Johnny D & Nick P did the clever chip to produce "The Captain" from just a tiny snippet of Carrie Lucas.

Armand Van Helden cashed in with a crossover chart hit past calculation the drums from Jaydee's "Plastic Dreams" & sticking some vocals over the acme.
